Remembering a Legend
Ted Williams, regarded as perhaps baseball's greatest hitter, died July 5 in Crystal River, Fla. The Splendid Splinter, who also served as a fighter pilot in World War II and Korea, dominated the 1940s, leading the league in runs batted in three times and batting and home runs four times each.
