FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) _ Sean Bergman allowed two hits in five scoreless innings as the Minnesota Twins beat the Texas Rangers 4-2 on Thursday.

Bergman (3-0, 3.06 ERA) retired the first 11 batters until Rangers catcher Ivan Rodriguez stroked a two-out single to left field. Texas' Mike Lamb got the other hit off Bergman, another single to left, with two outs in the fifth.

The Twins scored three runs in the first inning off Rangers starter Mark Clark, with Butch Huskey hitting a two-run homer.

Left-hander Mark Redman extended his scoreless innings streak to 12 by allowing just two hits in two innings of relief. Eddie Guardado got the save by pitching a scoreless ninth inning.

The Twins' Corey Koskie went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Denny Hocking went 2-for-2 with an RBI.

Texas avoided becoming the Twins' first shutout victim of the spring by rallying for two runs in the eighth off right-hander Hector Carrasco.

Both of the runs were unearned as Carrasco walked two batters with one out to load the bases, and catcher B.J. Wasgis hit a liner that was mishandled by Twins' second baseman Todd Walker, allowing two runs to score.
