PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The game between the Cincinnati Reds and Pittsburgh Pirates has been postponed due to rain and rescheduled for September 8 as part of a doubleheader at 5:05 p.m. EDT. The Pirates begin a three-game series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday at Busch Stadium, while the Reds head to Philadelphia for three games. Pittsburgh's Jason Schmidt will face St. Louis rookie Rick Ankiel on Tuesday. Jimmy Anderson, tonight's scheduled starter, has been pushed back to Wednesday. Cincinnati's Denny Neagle, who was slated to start tonight for the Reds, will battle Philadelphia's Andy Ashby on Tuesday. The Reds took two of three from the Pirates and have won four of their last five. Pittsburgh has dropped three of its last four.
