GAME LOG
MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Horacio Estrada allowed one run in seven innings in his first major league start, and Geoff Jenkins hit his 11th home run as the Milwaukee Brewers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-1 on Wednesday night. Estrada (1-0), who made four relief appearances last season with the Brewers, allowed three hits and three walks, striking out two. Sean Berry, who entered the game hitting .118, hit a two-run homer off Omar Daal (0-3) in the sixth inning to put the Brewers up 4-1. It was Berry's first home run since last May 9. Jenkins put Milwaukee on top 2-1 in the fourth inning with a two-out solo shot to right. The Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the first. Ron Belliard singled to open, stole second and continued around to third on a throwing error by catcher Damian Miller. Belliard scored on Jeromy Burnitz's groundout to first. Arizona tied it in the third when Miller led off with a double, moved to third on Daal's infield single and scored on an error by second baseman Belliard. Bob Wickman pitched the ninth for his fourth save. Daal gave up four runs on nine hits in 6 2-3 innings. Notes: Estrada was 2-1 with a 2.67 ERA in five starts with Triple-A Indianapolis. ... Jenkins' home run was his first this season off a left-hander. ... Brewers manager Davey Lopes celebrated his 55th birthday. ... Arizona lost for just the fifth time in 14 road games. ... Milwaukee pitchers Jamey Wright and John Snyder are scheduled to make rehab starts this weekend at Double A Huntsville. Wright, acquired from Colorado in the Jeff Cirillo trade, is on the 15-day DL with a rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder. He is scheduled to start Saturday.
