MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Marquis Grissom homered and drove in three runs, and Jamey Wright pitched eight strong innings in the Milwaukee Brewers' 11-2 victory over the Montreal Expos on Wednesday night.

Raul Casanova went 3-for-5, including a solo homer to break a 1-1 tie and start a five-run rally in the fourth inning. Grissom, also 3-for-5, capped a three-run fifth inning for the Brewers with his fourth homer.

Wright (2-1) allowed seven hits, two runs, walked four and struck out two in the game, which was delayed 13 minutes by rain in the third inning.

The Brewers took a 1-0 lead in the second without a hit against Mike Johnson (2-1). Charlie Hayes and Tyler Houston both walked, moved up on a wild pitch and Hayes scored on an infield ground out by Casanova.

Montreal tied it in the third when Peter Bergeron led off with a single and Michael Barrett walked. After Rondell White struck out, Bergeron scored on a single by Vladimir Guerrero, who was thrown out at second on the play by left fielder Geoff Jenkins. Walks to Jose Vidro and Geoff Blum loaded the bases when play was halted by heavy rain.

When play resumed, Chris Widger grounded out to end the inning.

Casanova's 352-foot homer to lead off the fourth gave him nine RBIs in the three-game series. The backup catcher, starting in place of Henry Blanco who is home in Venezuela for his father's funeral, had three RBIs on Monday and hit a grand slam Tuesday.

Johnson didn't make it through the fourth, giving way to David Moraga after the Brewers continued the rally. A single by Santiago Perez, a sacrifice by Wright, a walk to Ron Belliard and a run-scoring infield single by Grissom made it 3-1. Jeromy Burnitz, who struck out in his first two at-bats, greeted Moraga with a run-scoring double and Grissom beat a throw to the plate on a grounder by Jenkins to make it 5-1. A sacrifice fly by Charlie Hayes scored Burnitz for a 6-1 lead to cap the five-run rally.

The Expos got one back in the fifth on a triple by Guerrero and a sacrifice fly by Vidro.

But the Brewers answered with three in their half on a double by Casanova, a sacrifice by Wright, a sacrifice fly by Belliard and a two-run homer by Grissom that traveled 421 feet.

Houston hit a two-run homer in the eighth off Matt Skrmetta.

Notes: Wednesday's game was the only one of the series that wasn't delayed by rain at the start. Monday's start was delayed 26 minutes and there was a 2-hour, 12-minute delay Tuesday. ... The assist by Jenkins gave him six this season, tying RF Burnitz for the team lead. ... Guerrero's two hits tied him with teammate Jose Vidro for the NL lead with 86. ... The teams have played all three of their 2000 series with the Expos claiming a 5-4 advantage.
