ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) _ Troy Glaus hit two home runs estimated at a combined 878 feet and the Anaheim Angels also got solo homers from Tim Salmon and Bengie Molina as they rallied past the Minnesota Twins 8-3 Friday night. Rookie Seth Etherton (3-1) won his third straight start, allowing three runs and six hits in 6 2-3 innings, the longest of his six major league starts. David Ortiz got Minnesota's big hit, a two-run homer in a three-run second that also included a wild pitch with Corey Koskie on third. Jason Ryan (0-1), making his season debut, gave up five runs _ three earned _ and five hits in three innings. He had gone 7-0 for the Twins' Triple-A team at Salt Lake. Salmon led off the third with a 427-foot drive to center for his 17th homer this season and 213th of his career. One out later, Glaus hit a 443-homer into the left-field bleachers for a 5-3 lead. Glaus led off the seventh against Johan Santana with a 435-foot drive to center, his 22nd homer. Two pitches later, Molina hit his sixth homer and second in two nights. It was the eighth time this season that the Angels have hit at least four homers in a game. The club record of nine times was set in 1995. Anaheim tied the score with a three-run second, aided by shortstop Christian Guzman's one-out fielding error by on a routine grounder by Glaus. Adam Kennedy hit a two-run triple, his fifth of the season, and scored on Bengie Gil's sacrifice fly. Notes: Angels RHP Jason Vickson decided Friday to have season-ending arthroscopic surgery on his right shoulder next Tuesday. ... Glaus needs five home runs in the next 16 games to break Leon Wagner's franchise record of 25 homers before the All-Star break, set in 1962. Wagner played his home games that year at Dodger Stadium. ... No Angels starter has allowed more than four earned runs in any of the team's last 16 games. ... Gil was a late addition to the Angels' lineup after SS Kevin Stocker was scratched because of a sore left knee.
