TORONTO (AP) -- The Baltimore Orioles can stop dreading trips north of the border. The Orioles stopped their 20-game losing streak in Canada, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 9-5 Friday night behind Harold Baines' bat and Brady Anderson's glove. "I'd like to blame it on customs, but they always treat us pretty well," said Anderson, who took away two hits and had six putouts in center field. Baines had four hits, including a home run, as the Orioles won in Canada for the first time since defeating Toronto on June 13, 1998. Baltimore had lost 14 in a row at SkyDome and had been swept in both of its interleague series played at Montreal. "They've beaten us up pretty bad here the last couple years," Baines said. "But I don't think about the past." The 41 year-old Baines, who has never been fleet of foot, admitted it was unusual for him to get two infield hits. "I don't laugh about hits," said Baines, who was razzed by his teammates. "I've been struggling all year, so any hit is a good hit for me." Tony Batista hit his 29th and 30th home runs for the Blue Jays. Toronto has homered in 20 straight home games, one short of the club record set previously this season. Pat Rapp (6-6) won for just the third time in his last 16 starts. He gave up four earned runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. "I heard that we hadn't won in Canada, but all I could do was pitch," Rapp said. "Streaks are made to be broken." Baines went 4-for-5 and drove in two runs. Delino DeShields and Will Clark also homered for the Orioles. DeShields' homer off Roy Halladay (4-6) gave Baltimore a 1-0 lead in the first. The Orioles scored three times in the second. Charles Johnson and Baines singled home runs and another scored on Ivanon Coffie's double-play grounder. Shannon Stewart homered for Toronto in the third, but Baines homered in the fourth to give Baltimore a 5-1 lead. Halladay gave up five runs in just 3 1/2 innings, raising his to ERA 11.05. "Obviously guys still pitch well without velocity," said Halladay, whose fastball was consistently five miles slower than it usually is. "It's just a matter locating, and I didn't do that." The Blue Jays scored two runs in the fifth. After Chris Woodward singled, Stewart tripled and Raul Mondesi had an RBI grounder. Coffie's RBI double in the sixth gave Baltimore a 6-3 lead. The Orioles added two runs in the eighth on DeShields' sacrifice fly and Albert Belle's RBI double. Batista hit solo homers off Rapp in the sixth and Buddy Groom in the eighth. Clark homered in the ninth. Game notesThe Orioles' 14 defeats were one shy of the club record for most consecutive road losses to one team. The Orioles lost 15 straight at Cleveland from April 30, 1955, through July 27, 1956. ... Friday was Olympic night at SkyDome as 25 Canadian Olympic athletes were honored before the game. ...
