DENVER (AP) -- Jeff Cirillo just wanted to make contact. He ended up doing more. Cirillo hit a go-ahead single after Terry Shumpert tied the game with a homer Wednesday night, giving the Colorado Rockies a 6-4 win over the Arizona Diamondbacks. "I even choked up," Cirillo said. "I really haven't choked up all year." Cirillo fouled off three pitches from Russ Springer before getting the hit. "Jeff was the right guy for the situation," Colorado manager Buddy Bell said. "He had a great at-bat and has been swinging the bat great this series." Cirillo had three hits after getting four on Tuesday. "It's good to finish good because that gives you a positive spin for the offseason and you remember what you did in September," Cirillo said. "It's like hitting a good golf shot, it makes you want to come back." Todd Helton added an RBI single in the eight. Todd Walker went 4-for-4 and Todd Hollandsworth hit a two-run homer for the Rockies. Shumpert's solo shot off the left-field foul pole against Dan Plesac (5-1) made it 4-all in the eighth. Two outs later, Juan Pierre and Neifi Perez singled. "I knew he had a pretty good slider, down and in like Randy Johnson kept doing to me the other night," Shumpert said. "I thought he would go that way and actually threw a changeup and I hit it just far enough, 347 feet." Russ Springer relieved and gave up the run-scoring singles to Cirillo and Helton. Cirillo had three hits after getting four on Tuesday. Gabe White (11-2) pitched two innings for the win. Jose Jimenez worked the ninth for his 22nd save in 28 tries. Luis Gonzalez hit his 30th home run for the Diamondbacks. "Curt Schilling gave us all he had, battled his way through six and two thirds and Plesac came in and got a big out for us," Arizona manager Buck Showalter said. "We just couldn't shut them down after that." Schilling, 5-6 since being acquired on July 26 from Philadelphia, started for Arizona and got a no-decision. He pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up three runs and eight hits, striking out five. "It was a struggle, no question," Schilling said. "I was throwing one pitch for a strike and when you do that you're up against a lot." Gonzalez gave the Diamondbacks a 1-0 lead with a home run in the first. Hollandsworth capped an 11-pitch at-bat with his 18th home run in the fourth for a 2-1 lead. Cirillo opened the inning with a single and Hollandsworth fouled off five pitches before lining a fastball into the seats in left. Schilling walked Helton with two outs in the fifth inning and Walker hit an RBI double. Steve Finley, in a 3-for-31 slump, tied it with a two-out, two-run double in the Arizona sixth. The Diamondbacks took a 4-3 lead off White in the seventh, scoring a run on a double-play grounder. Game notesArizona RHP Todd Stottlemyre had successful surgery Tuesday on his right elbow and won't be able for throw for at least eight weeks. ... Helton became the eighth player in major league history to have 100 walks, 100 runs, 100 RBIs and 200 hits when he drew a fifth-inning walk. ...
