Going deep in the derby

ATLANTA -- ESPN.com tracked every hitter and charted their long-ball prowess during Monday's home run derby. While Sammy Sosa won the event in a landslide, here's a rundown of who went deep and how often they did so during the competition:

FIRST ROUND

Edgar Martinez 2 Edgar just didn't have his power stroke going as he hit just two home runs.
Chipper Jones 2 The hometown hero started out fast, but didn't keep it going. Chipper hit two homers in his first four swings, but none after that.
Carl Everett 6 Everett blasted two out of the park in his first four swings and took over the lead two swings later. He went on to smack three more to take a commanding lead. But that was before Sammy Sosa stepped to the box.
Vladimir Guerrero 2 Vlad wowed the crowd early with two monumental blasts, but that's all he could muster in closing out his round with just two.
Ivan Rodriguez 1 Pudge just never got it going though he did hit a couple to the warning track.
Sammy Sosa 6 On his third swing, Slammin' Sammy went to the upper deck in left field, hitting it an estimated 496 feet. He smacked five more, tying Everett for the lead.
Carlos Delgado 5 After starting out slow, Delgado hit three in a row midway through his round before adding two more homers later in the round.
Ken Griffey Jr. 6 Junior didn't waste any time, going deep on his first swing. He kept it going throughout adding five more homers to move on to the semifinals.

Carl Everett 6 Everett had his power stroke going, but it was no match for Sosa's incredible effort as he fell five short of advancing to the finals.
Carlos Delgado 1 Delgado ran into a power outage as many of the balls he hit fell just short of leaving the park.
Ken Griffey Jr. 3 Junior got a late start, but did just enough to beat out Delgado and advance to the finals.

Ken Griffey Jr. 2 Griffey just couldn't match the power of Sosa, falling well short of claiming his third straight home run derby title.
