NEW YORK -- All-Star catcher Mike Piazza of the New York Mets sustained a slight concussion in a first-inning collision at
home plate Friday night in Game 3 of the National League
Championship series against the Atlanta Braves.
He remained down for a few moments as Boone bent over him. Piazza walked off under his own power and remained in the game. Piazza missed the final two games of the division playoff against Arizona with a sprained and swollen left thumb. He is 2-for-11 in the three games of the NLCS.
