ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) _ Stephon Marbury scored 22 points and Keith Van Horn added 20 points and 10 rebounds as the New Jersey Nets won for the 12th time in their its last 17 games, 100-94 over the Orlando Magic on Monday night.

The Nets led 98-87 with 2:29 remaining but Orlando's Darrell Armstrong scored six consecutive points to pull Orlando within five. Bo Outlaw made one of two free throws to make it 98-94 with 44.8 to play.

New Jersey's Johnny Newman then turned the ball over and the Magic had a chance to cut it to two points, but Kendall Gill blocked a layup attempt by Monty Williams with 31 seconds remaining. Gill soared above the rim to block the shot, drawing protests from the Magic that the ball already was in the cylinder.

Gill and Lucious Harris combined for two of four free throws in the game's final 6.9 seconds to finish the scoring.

Armstrong led all scorers with 29 points and had eight assists. Outlaw came off the bench to add 16 points 10 rebounds.

Marbury added nine assists and Jamie Feick had 13 rebounds for New Jersey.

Outlaw's layup pulled Orlando 92-87 but Van Horn and Harris answered with consecutive 3-pointers to put New Jersey ahead 98-87.

New Jersey led by as many as 13 points early in the fourth quarter but Orlando cut it to 88-84 with an 11-2 run that was capped by a Ben Wallace layup at the 5:19 mark.

New Jersey wasted little time closing Orlando's six-point halftime lead by starting the third quarter on a 20-6 run. New Jersey led 69-61 at the 5:48 mark and outscored the Magic 31-15 in the quarter. Van Horn and Marbury each scored eight points in the period.

Armstrong scored 15 points and Wallace had 10 points and 11 rebounds as the Magic led 55-49 at halftime.

New Jersey led 36-32 with 8:34 remaining in the half but Orlando finished on a 23-13 run. The Nets were led by Marbury and Burrell with 10 points each.

Notes: Van Horn had a season-high four blocked shots. ... Outlaw's 16 points were a season-high. ... The game featured 14 lead changes. ... Orlando made all 12 free throw attempts in the first half.
