OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Terrell Brandon wasted little time re-establishing himself as the driving force behind the Timberwolves' offense as Minnesota set a team record with its fifth straight road win.

Brandon, returning to the Minnesota lineup after missing three games with a strained right calf, had 15 points and nine assists as the Timberwolves defeated Golden State 99-81 Sunday night.

Kevin Garnett had 22 points and 15 rebounds for Minnesota, which has won nine of its last 10 road games. Before the recent streak of success, the Timberwolves had lost 17 of 18 away from home in a stretch that began last season.

The Timberwolves have won four straight overall and 15 of their last 18.

Mookie Blaylock had 14 points and Jason Caffey added 13 for Golden State, which had won its previous two games after snapping a 12-game losing streak. But Antawn Jamison, who scored 32 and 37 points in those two victories, had just seven points on 3-for-15 shooting Sunday.

Garnett, who guarded Jamison for most of the evening, had three steals and committed only one foul in 37 minutes.

After leading by 11 points at halftime, the Timberwolves extended their lead to 80-59 entering the fourth quarter. The margin grew to 27 points late in the final period.

Golden State starting center Donyell Marshall left the game early in the second quarter with bruised ribs and played just six minutes the rest of the game. The Warriors said X-rays were negative.

Sam Mitchell had 12 points and the Timberwolves shot 61 percent in the first half while taking a 56-45 lead. Minnesota used a 10-0 run late in the first period, holding the Warriors scoreless for 4:21, to take control.

Notes: The Warriors now are 0-8 at home this season against Midwest Division teams. ... Golden State ended a seven-game homestand with a 2-5 record. ... The Timberwolves are 11-2 since Mitchell became a starter. ... Joe Smith, a former No. 1 overall draft choice by the Warriors, had 10 points off the bench for Minnesota.
