VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) -- Vancouver coach Lionel Hollins wasn't about to let the Grizzlies pack it in at halftime. They didn't, with Dennis Scott hitting a 3-pointer with 41.7 seconds left to break a tie as the Grizzlies rallied to beat the Washington Wizards 92-87 on Wednesday night. "I told them at halftime that they're playing harder than us," Hollins said. "It would have been easy to go out after the game after losing by 20 and saying we were rusty from the All-Star break. But if we go out and outplay them in the second half, suck it up mentally and physically, play with energy, we had a chance to win the game." Mike Bibby had 21 points and seven assists for the Grizzlies, who rallied from a 15-point deficit to send the Wizards to their 13th straight road loss. Washington coach Darrell Walker warned the Wizards that Grizzlies would be better prepared in the second half. "I told them the game wasn't over at halftime and they were going to make a run," Walker said of the Grizzlies, who trailed 55-43 at the break. "We had a lot of good looks at the basket. We didn't knock them down." Shareef Abdur-Rahim added 19 points and 14 rebounds for the Grizzlies, and Michael Dickerson also had 19 points. Scott finished with six points. Mitch Richmond led Washington with 18 points, Rod Strickland added 16, and Juwan Howard had 14. "They made shots and we didn't," said Washington forward Michael Smith, playing his first game against Vancouver since the Grizzlies traded him last summer. Washington led 72-67 entering the final period, but the Grizzlies rallied to take the lead at 85-84 with 1:07 left. Richmond hit a free throw to tie it, but Scott followed with his 3-pointer. Down 26-21 after the first quarter, Washington hit eight of its first 12 shots of the second period and used a 22-5 run to take a 53-41 lead at the half. Game notesThe 15-point comeback is the second largest in Grizzlies history. In their first-ever home game in 1994-95, the Grizzlies rebounded from 16 down to beat Minnesota. ... Before the game, the Wizards activated Smith (right elbow) and placed guard Reggie Jordan (knee tendinitis) on the disabled list. ...
