INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) _ Jamal Mashburn and Alonzo Mourning combined for 23 third-quarter points to spark the Miami Heat to a 92-82 victory over the Golden State Warriors Friday night in the third-place game of the exhibition Great Western Shootout. Mashburn's 13 points in the quarter matched Golden State's team total as the Heat (2-2) took control after a 38-38 first half with a 30-13 edge in the period. John Starks led the Warriors (2-4) with 18 points before fouling out less than a minute into the fourth period. The Los Angeles Lakers met the Phoenix Suns later Friday night in the two-day event's title game. The second half of the doubleheader was to be the final sporting event in the Great Western Forum. Mashburn was blanked during the first half, when he misfired on all five of his shots, but was 6-of-8 in the third quarter. Mark Davis, who finished with 13 points, and Vonteego Cummings, with 12, led a fourth-period charge, but the Warriors got no closer than seven points with 46 seconds remaining.
