ATLANTA (AP) -- Jim Jackson scored a season-high 33 points and Isaiah Rider added 30 to lead the Atlanta Hawks to a 112-110 win over the Detroit Pistons on Saturday night. "They played off of each other really well," Atlanta coach Lenny Wilkens said. "We try to put them in those situations and they delivered. Both players played with a lot of confidence. We wanted to help them. We weren't just going to let them loose." The Hawks' Alan Henderson gave the Pistons a chance to win by throwing an inbounds pass right to Detroit's Grant Hill with 2.8 seconds to play. Hill, who finished with 33 points, dribbled quickly past halfcourt and missed a potential game-winning 3-pointer. The Hawks won their fourth straight game by making their free throws, finishing 30 of 34. Atlanta scored its last 10 points from the foul line. Jackson, whose previous season high of 26 came in Thursday's win over Sacramento, made 12-of-19 shots from the floor and 6-of-7 at the line as Atlanta improved to 7-3 since its dismal start. "It's about opportunities. You've got to take advantage when they present themselves," Jackson said. "I can score, it's just a matter of being in the right place at the right time." Rider made 10-of-18 shots and 9-of-10 at the line as he fell two points shy of his season high. He grabbed nine rebounds and handed out six assists. His free throws with six seconds to go gave the Hawks a 112-107 lead. "It was definitely a big win," Rider said. "Jim played good. He shot the lights out. Jim was in the zone tonight. He made my eyes open wide on some shots tonight. We've been around each other since we were young at camps and stuff. We respect each others game. We scratch each other's backs and there's no jealousy out there. Doing well together is better than individually." The Pistons, a perfect 20-for-20 on free throw attempts, got 22 points from Lindsey Hunter and 19 from Christian Laettner. Detroit went 8-for-8 on fourth-quarter free throw attempts. Atlanta took its first lead of the second half at 76-75 when Coles hit a running jumper and followed with a free throw at the 3:17 mark of the third quarter. Jerry Stackhouse scored 20 for the Pistons, who ended a three-game losing streak Friday by upsetting San Antonio 102-80. Hill, who passed the 30-point mark for the ninth time in Detroit's 18 games, was unstoppable in the first half, shooting 10 of 14 for 21 points. "I just couldn't get the right plays at both ends down the stretch," Hill said. "We didn't execute offensively, and defensively we didn't get stops. They outhustled us in the third quarter and got us in a hole going into the fourth." Game notesAtlanta forward Roshown McLeod was out with the flu. ... The Hawks' 6-9 record in November was their first losing month since going 5-6 in Feb. 1998. ...
