OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) _ Antwan Jamison wants to forget that he
wasn't picked for the All-Star Game and get refocused on the second
half of the season. Jamison scored 27 points, but he was just a spectator as Bob
Sura made a free throw with 0.7 seconds remaining to seal Golden
State's 89-88 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday
night, snapping the Warriors' five-game losing streak. ``It's been so frustrating to have this type of season we're
having,'' said Jamison, who was playing his second game as team
captain. ``I thought I deserved to be at the All-Star game, but
that's the way it goes. It will only make me stronger.'' Jamison, enjoying a career season, has led the Warriors in
scoring 31 times this season. He added a career-high seven assists
against the Clippers. ``I still have a lot to prove, not only to the world, but to
this team and this organization,'' Jamison said. ``This is not just
a half season. I need to do this over a full season.'' The Clippers tied the game with 3.2 seconds left when Sura's
defensive lapse allowed Eric Piatkowski an open 3-pointer from the
top of the key. ``I messed up letting Piatkowski get open,'' Sura said. ``I was
supposed to switch back on him, but I didn't. Luckily, I was able
to redeem myself.'' Sura finished with 22 points, Marc Jackson added 16 points and
13 rebounds and Mookie Blaylock scored 14 points. ``I'll take any W's I can get,'' Warriors coach Dave Cowens
said. ``It was real tight all the way, but now instead of seeing
Piatkowski in my dreams, I get to see Bobby. He made an aggressive
play and got the call. Now we can be happy for a couple of games.'' After Piatkowski tied the game, Sura got the ball in the corner.
As he went up for a shot, Lamar Odom fouled him. ``With time running out, I knew they would challenge the shot,''
Sura said. ``I was trying to draw a foul, and that's what
happened.'' Odom scored 27 points for the Clippers, who had a three-game
winning streak stopped. Piatkowski had 15 points for Los Angeles,
which hasn't won four in a row since February 1997. The lead changed 11 times in the final period and 21 times in
the game. Blaylock's short jumper gave Golden State an 86-83 lead with
just over a minute left. Odom hit a jumper with 21 seconds remaining, making it 86-85,
but Sura answered with a pair of foul shots before Piatkowski tied
it. ``The bottom line is we shot 12-of-26 from the foul line. We
were our own worst enemy that way,'' Clippers coach Alvin Gentry
said. ``We gave them 20 offensive rebounds. The game was those
rebounds and our free throws.'' Despite shooting 37 percent for the first half, the Warriors
trailed just 44-42 at halftime. Notes: Blaylock had five steals and needs just six to become the
eighth player in NBA history to reach 2,000. ... The Clippers'
reserves are outscoring their opponents by a 12-point margin, and
lead the NBA with 37.3 points per game. ... Golden State's Larry
Hughes missed his third straight game with a sprained thumb. ...
The Clippers' 46.2 percent free-throw shooting was the lowest by a
Warriors opponent this season. ... Jackson is the only NBA rookie
with more than seven double-doubles this season.
