Bibby, Abdur-Rahim score 22 to lead way

RECAP | BOX SCORE | GAME FLOW

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Talk of relocation has the Vancouver Grizzlies winning.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim and Mike Bibby had 22 points each as the Grizzlies beat the Golden State Warriors 99-89 for their second straight win.

The Grizzlies won a second straight game for the first time since November, when they beat Atlanta and Dallas to open the season 4-1.

"That was my pep talk before the game," said Grizzlies coach Sidney Lowe. "My postgame talk was, 'OK, we have a streak going now, so let's keep it going."

Michael Dickerson had 20 points and a career-high nine rebounds as the Grizzlies moved to 15-36. Golden State dropped its fifth straight road game to fall to 15-35 on the year.

"I was just trying to focus on going to the glass tonight," said Dickerson, who played a team-high 44 minutes. "Their guards took a lot of shots, and usually when a guard takes a shot, the rebound's long. So I was just trying to read that and be aggressive."

Golden State shot 1-for-13 (7.7 percent) from 3-point range, while the Grizzlies were 8-for-12 (66.7 percent).

"We shot seven percent from 3s and they were 60 percent or something crazy," said Warriors coach Dave Cowens. "And some of those were awfully deep. The way they were shooting it, I'm surprised we were that close."

Vancouver shot 52.9 percent from the field compared to just 38 percent for the Warriors.

Antawn Jamison scored 24 points on 11-for-30 shooting for the Warriors. He also grabbed 10 rebounds. Bob Sura had 16 points, while Mookie Blaylock scored 14 points and added 11 assists.

Recently acquired Erick Strickland had his best performance in a Vancouver uniform with 10 points, nine rebounds and eight assists in 25 minutes.

"I got an opportunity to play and feel comfortable out there and not look over my shoulder and just play the game," said Strickland, who came over from the Knicks in a trade that sent Othella Harrington to New York on January 30. "That was key for me. It allowed me to sit back and let things come instead of going out and trying to make things happen."

The Grizzlies are 4-4 in their last eight games. Golden State is 2-8 in their last ten.

Vancouver led by ten with 11:07 remaining, but Golden State chipped away and was within two with 3:20 left.

Bibby then hit his fifth 3-pointer of the game and Abdur-Rahim followed with a 7-foot jump shot.

It was 92-86 when Blaylock missed a 3-pointer and Bryant Reeves grabbed his ninth rebound and was fouled, hitting both free throws.

Bibby had 10 third-quarter points as the Grizzlies led 73-65 heading into the final period.

Vancouver shot 59 percent (23-39) in the first half on the way to a 55-45 halftime lead. The Grizzlies recorded 19 assists in the half. Dickerson led Vancouver with 15 points.

The teams were tied at 22 after one period.

After all the media attention given the Grizzlies' potential relocation, Vancouver fans stayed away in record numbers. The attendance of 10,612 was a low at GM Place. The team is averaging 13,497 on the season. ... This was the first game of a home-and-home series with Oakland; the teams play Friday in Oakland. ... Golden State leads the overall series 14-6 and is 7-2 at home vs. Vancouver.
