Originally an early entry candidate for the 1999 NBA Draft who withdrew his name prior to the draft. International scouts describe him as a fearless competitor who loves to drive to the basket and is an aggressive defender. Has plenty of quickness but needs to develop more strength.

Helped Red Star Belgrade to Yugoslavian League title in 1997-98, when he voted as the Most Improved Player in the league. A member of the Yugoslavian national team since 1998. Member of the Yugoslavian Under 22 National Team at the 1997 World Championship and at the 1998 European Championship. Won the gold medal at 1998 22-and-Under European Championship where he was selected MVP. Played in the 1999 Yugoslavian All-Star Game.

Playing for Red Star Belgrade in 1999-2000, averaged 15.8 points and made 60 percent of his two-point field goal attempts.

Averaged 18.9 points, 2.2 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game in 16 appearances for Red Star Belgrade in 1998-99.
