EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- The Philadelphia 76ers have offered to trade Larry Hughes to the New Jersey Nets for Kerry Kittles, the New York Times reported Thursday, citing an unnamed official from an Eastern Conference team.
Hughes, who can play both guard positions as well as small forward, has stated publicly that he has differences with Sixers coach Larry Brown, and last week implied that he would not mind being traded.
Kittles -- who played college ball in Philadelphia at Villanova -- returned from a right knee injury five games ago and helped the slumping Nets post consecutive victories over Sacramento and Milwaukee. But he is coming off a season in which he averaged only 12 points, 5 points fewer than he did over his first two seasons. | ALSO SEE Iverson sheds cast, could return to Sixers in a week Rockets lose game, Barkley in Philadelphia |
