WASHINGTON -- Harvey Grant's third stint with the
Washington Wizards ended virtually before it even began.
The Wizards on Thursday waived the veteran forward, who re-signed with
the club on Oct. 5 and played in six exhibition games. He
made one start and averaged just 1.3 points per game.
Grant ranks 10th in franchise history in games (508) and 11th in
minutes. He averaged 10.7 points and 4.6 rebounds in his career
with Washington.
Grant had his best season with Washington in 1990-91, averaging
18.2 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting a career-high 49.8
percent from the field.
He has not played a regular-season game in the NBA since the
lockout-shortened 1998-99 campaign, when he averaged 3.1 points
and 2.3 rebounds in 47 games for the Philadelphia 76ers.
