BOULDER, Colo. (AP) -- Jaquay Walls, whose 35-footer sent the game into overtime, scored 15 of his career-high 42 points in the extra period as Colorado upset Iowa State (No. 17 ESPN/USA Today, No. 14 AP) 102-90 on Saturday.

The loss was just the second in the last 21 games for Iowa State (22-4, 10-2 Big 12), and both have come in overtime. Colorado (15-10, 5-7) has won four straight against the Cyclones in Boulder.

Colorado's Jaquay Walls hit all 10 of his shots in the final minutes of regulation and overtime.

Walls, who averages 17 points, took over in the final two minutes of regulation and the five-minute overtime, hitting all 10 of his shots down the stretch.

Scoring on layups, 3-pointers and driving bank shots, Walls finished the game 16-of-24 -- including 7-of-10 from 3-point range -- to prevent Iowa State from keeping sole possession of first place in the Big 12.

Marcus Fizer, the conference's leading scorer, had 30 points and Michael Nurse added 17 for the Cyclones, who took their last lead at 87-86 with 3:10 left in overtime.

Walls put Colorado ahead for good with a 3-pointer and followed with a short jumper in the lane 44 seconds later to put Colorado up 91-87.

Nurse scored Iowa State's final point on a free throw, and Walls capped Colorado's wild finish with a layup as time expired to complete a game-ending 10-0 run.

Jamahl Mosley had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Colorado, and Walls' 42 points tied for the fifth-most in school history.

It didn't look like Walls would get a chance to go for 40 after Fizer hit two free throws to give Iowa State an 80-77 lead with 4.4 seconds left in regulation.

With one final possession, Walls dribbled down the left side of the court, dribbled behind his back toward the middle and hit a running 3-pointer shot from just in front of the halfcourt circle as time expired.

The Cyclones made just three field goals in the final eight minutes of regulation but stayed in the game by hitting 18 of 18 free throws in that span.
