    Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the NCAA Tournament with an inside look at the Creighton playbook.

There is little doubt that Creighton's strength is 3-point shooting. The Blue Jays were second in the country in 3-point shooting percentage at 41.8 percent.

Nearly everyone on the team shoots 3-pointers, not just Ryan Sears, who was the MVP of the Missouri Valley tournament. Sears, who is by far their best player, can shoot the 3 off the dribble, or penetrate and dish it off to others, like Kyle Korver, Ben Walker, Terrell Taylor and Matt West. Donnie Johnson, however, is more of an inside player and took no 3-point attempts all season.

Creighton's strength is the halfcourt game. The Blue Jays move the ball and get it to the open man to shoot the 3-pointer. They set a Missouri Valley record for attempts this season, so they are always looking for that shot.

While they go eight players deep, they are not a very big team. Johnson is Creighton's tallest player at 6-foot-7. The Blue Jays can get hurt against clubs that like to pound the ball inside. They overcome their inside weaknesses by pressing a lot, but they will have problems against a team with good guards who can handle the press and get the ball inside. I wouldn't consider Creighton to be a sleeper team. -- Larry Conley, ESPN
