Iona is not particularly big or overly athletic. Tariq Kirksay is a talented player and a mid-major conference star. But the Gaels will have issues to deal with against Maryland's pressure and size across the front line. The Gaels have no one to counteract players like Terence Morris or Lonny Baxter.

As a mid-major school, Iona hasn't played any substantial opponents this year. The Gaels defeated Boston College, but the Eagles had a less than stellar season.

Iona is a good, but not great, defensive team, and the Gaels don't rebound the ball nearly as well as Maryland does. But teams can rise up in the tournament.
