    Get the Coach's Edge

Let the experts at Coach's Edge get you ready for the NCAA Tournament with an inside look at the Texas playbook.
Most people talk about Texas' inside game, with Chris Mihm and Gabe Muoneke, two strong frontcourt strong players, along with Chris Owens. The Longhorns are a physical team.

Defensively, their guards are outstanding. Ivan Wagner and Darren Kelly can really put defensive pressure on in a halfcourt situation. If opposing players can get by the guards, then Mihm and Muoneke are inside waiting for them. Mihm manages to stay out of foul trouble. He does a nice job of not leaving his feet.

On offense, Mihm is the key. When he is aggressive with the ball, the Longhorns are extremely dangerous. When Mihm is playing with passion, teams have to double-team him. That makes everyone else better. Their guards are better offensively than most people give them credit for. Wagner and Kelly can both hit open shots.

Everything lies with Mihm. He can be a great strength or weakness. He can control how their team goes. But the other players have to hit their jump shots to get Mihm untracked, and sometimes Wagner and Kelly go cold. Texas is another Big 12 team that can make the Sweet 16 because the Longhorns pose matchup problems. -- Jon Sundvold, ESPN
