| ESPN.com news services UCLA sophomore JaRon Rush will announce Monday or Tuesday that he will make himself eligible for the NBA draft, ESPN.com's Andy Katz reported Thursday. Another UCLA sophomore, Jerome Moiso, still is debating whether to stay in school or turn pro, according to sources within the coaching staff. The players declined to discuss their futures when approached by the Los Angeles Daily News after an informal workout at UCLA's Wooden Center. Rush was asked if he had any news. "Not yet, but I'll have some next week," he said. "I have until May 14, and I'm going to take some more time," Moiso said when asked if he had made a decision. "They're saying I'd be picked from 10 to 20 (in the first round) if I go." Rush, a 6-foot-7 sophomore forward, was suspended by the NCAA for a combined 44 games beginning in December for allegedly receiving improper benefits from an AAU coach and $200 from a sports agent during the 1998-99 academic year. Rush served a 15-game suspension for accepting the money from an agent. In February, the NCAA reduced the 29-game suspension for the alleged improper benefits from an AAU coach to nine games, allowing Rush to return to the Bruins. Rush's buzzer-beating shot in his first game back beat Stanford and helped propel UCLA into the NCAA Tournament. Rush averaged 12.1 points and 5.7 rebounds last season. The 6-foot-10 Moiso averaged 13 points and 7.6 rebounds. UCLA finished with a 21-12 record. Underclassmen who declare for the draft can attend the Chicago pre-draft camp June 6-9 (if invited) but have to pull out of the draft by June 21 (a week before the June 28 draft) if they're going to return to college.
