STONY BROOK, N.Y. (AP) _ James Crawford rushed for 100 yards and the game's only touchdown as Stony Brook defeated Monmouth 7-3 in Northeast Conference play on Saturday.

The Hawks (0-4, 0-2 Northeast) took a 3-0 lead on Joe Tramutolo's 22-yard field goal at 4:48 of the second quarter.

Crawford, who carried 14 times overall, capped an eight-play, 57-yard drive with a 20-yard TD run at 5:50 of the third period.

Oscar Alcantara went 8-for-14 for 82 yards and rushed 13 times for another 89 yards for the Seawolves (1-1).
