ATHENS, Ohio (AP) _ Joe Sherrill scored on a 6-yard run and Raynald Ray ran in from 28 yards just before the half as Ohio built a 17-0 halftime lead and held on to beat Bowling Green 17-14 Saturday.

Sherrill had 100 yards on 23 carries to lead an attack that ran for 329 yards. Chad Brinker rushed for 89 yards on 15 carries, Dan Jordan had 60 yards on 10 carries and Ray rushed for 57 yards on nine carries for the Bobcats (3-5, 3-2 Mid-American Conference).

Sherrill capped a three-play, 60-yard drive with his touchdown run with 1:46 left in the first quarter.

A fumble by Andy Sahm on the Bowling Green 35 set up the Bobcats' second score, a 37-yard field goal by Kevin Kerr.

Ray's 28-yard run with 1:27 left in the second quarter capped a nine-play, 66-yard drive.

Bowling Green (2-6, 1-5) scored in third quarter on a 14-yard pass from Ricky Schneider to Kurt Gerlin and a 59-yard run in the fourth quarter by Joe Alls, who had 97 yards on 11 carries.
