HANOVER, N.H. (AP) _ Brian Mann and Reggie Belhomme ran for touchdowns while Dartmouth's defense produced another and seven sacks Saturday as the Big Green posted a 20-17 comeback victory over Cornell, ending the longest losing streak in school history.

The defense keyed the Homecoming win, which ended a 10-game losing streak, the longest ever for Dartmouth (1-5, 1-2 in Ivy League), which began playing football in 1881.

Cornell's Joe Splendorio made two acrobatic catches for touchdowns but the visiting Big Red (4-2, 3-1 Ivy), which led 10-6 at the half, suffered from poor punting and an inability to hold out the fired-up Big Green. Greg Dietrick had two sacks to lead Dartmouth.

The first half was played in a steady rain with Dartmouth's John Campbell scoring the first touchdown. Richard Efem broke through to block a punt by Cornell's Mike Muccio and Campbell picked up the ball at the 2 and dove into the end zone 9:24 into the game.

Splendorio caught a 6-yard scoring pass from Ricky Rahne in the second period and a 36-yard aerial on a fourth-down play with 1:51 remaining to make it close before Dartmouth ran out the clock. Cornell's John McCombs kicked both extra points and had a 28-yard field goal as time expired in the first half.

After a 29-yard punt from Cornell, Mann gave Dartmouth the lead for good early in the third period. He dove over the line from a yard out and Alex Csizinszky added the extra point for a 13-10 lead.

Belhomme's 12-yard run in the fourth quarter and Csizinszky's conversion clinched the win, despite Splendorio's leaping TD catch in the final moments.
