 LAFAYETTE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Brent Bergeron booted a 32-yard field goal on the first possession of overtime, lifting Louisiana-Lafayette to a 37-34 victory over Division I-AA Wofford. After Bergeron's field goal put the Ragin' Cajuns in front, Wofford missed chance to extend the game when senior Matt Martin missed a 24-yard field goal. John Bernard helped Louisiana-Lafayette (2-9) send the game into overtime and avoid an embarrassing loss to a Division I-AA opponent with a 24-yard run with 2 1/2 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter that forged a 34-34 tie. Darren Brister carried 24 times for 105 yards, including a three-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and Bernard had 88 yards on 14 carries for Louisiana-Lafayette. Tony Hudson rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns and Travis Wilson had 121 and two scores for Wofford (6-5), which trailed 20-10 at halftime.
