Wide receiver Ronald Bellamy and the Wolverines got past Auburn.
 
Anthony Thomas had to do something to make up for a late-season fumble against Northwestern that hurt Michigan's Rose Bowl hopes. Mission accomplished. Thomas ran for 181 yards and two touchdowns, leading the Wolverines to a 31-28 victory over Auburn in the Citrus Bowl. In the process, Thomas became Michigan's all-time leading rusher with 4,393 yards.
