Miami opens with La. Tech on Aug. 28

Associated Press

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Quarterback Brock Berlin's debut with the Miami Hurricanes and his homecoming in Louisiana will be televised in prime time.

Miami and Louisiana Tech moved their 2003 opener from Saturday, Aug. 30 to Thursday, Aug. 28 so the game could be televised nationally on ESPN.

The game will be played in Shreveport, La., where Berlin was a Parade All-American in 1999 at Evangel Christian Academy. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET.

Berlin, a junior who won the starting job this spring, originally signed with Florida but transferred to get more playing time following the 2001 season. Per NCAA rules, Berlin sat out last season.

Miami is 2-0 all time against Louisiana Tech.
