Has Notre Dame lost its mystique?

Notre Dame's image has suffered in recent years. A 5-6 record this season cost coach Bob Davie his job. George O'Leary is the new coach after the Irish reportedly flirted with Jon Gruden, Steve Mariucci, Tom Coughlin and Tyrone Willingham. ESPN The Magazine's Gene Wojociechowski says the Irish have hit a home run with O'Leary as their new coach. ESPN.com's Adrian Wojnarowski says the Irish could have done better.

What do you think? Is the mystique gone? Is O'Leary the right man for the job?
