LAWRENCE, Kan. (AP) -- Nicole Kubik scored 17 points as Nebraska scored an 81-69 upset of Kansas (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today, No. 21 AP) on Tuesday night.
Nebraska led at halftime 34-32, but traded baskets with the Jayhawks (10-4, 1-1) until Kubik put them up 47-41 with 12 minutes left. Kubik made a lay-in to give the Cornhuskers their biggest lead at 70-55 with 6:16 left. Lynn Pride of Kansas led all scorers with 22 points. Nebraska took a 7-point lead at 21-14 with 9:30 left in the first half. The Jayhawks scored six unanswered points in two minutes to make it 21-20 before a 3-pointer by Shahidrah Roberts ended the run. The Jayhawks pulled within 31-30 with 1:29 left in the first half, but Amanda Went hit a 3-pointer for the Huskers. Suzi Raymant scored 14 points for Kansas, and Brook Reves and Jennifer Jackson each had 12. Nebraska outrebounded the Jayhawks 48-33.
