COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Michaela Moua's only field goal of the game, a layup at the buzzer, gave Ohio State a 53-51 victory Thursday night over Purdue (No. 16 ESPN/USA Today, No. 18 AP).

The victory by the Buckeyes (9-5 overall, 2-2 Big Ten Conference) ended a six-game Purdue winning streak in the series and extended the Boilermakers' losing streak to three games. It's the first time the defending national champions (9-5, 1-3) have lost three straight since December 1995.

No one scored in the final 2{ minutes until a field goal by Purdue's Katie Douglas with 20 seconds left tied the game at 51, ending an 8-0 run. Ohio State's Tanya McClure missed a free throw with five seconds left, but Ohio State got the rebound and called timeout immediately to set up the final play.

DiDi Reyolds with 12 points was the only player in double figures for Ohio State. Douglas scored 20 and Camille Cooper 12 for Purdue.

Ohio State never trailed after the first seven minutes, led 33-27 at the half and held its biggest lead of the second half at 51-43 before Purdue began the run that tied the score.

Moua, Ohio State's only senior and leading scorer, struggled for the third straight game. She was just 1-for-2 from the floor and is a combined 3-for-15 with 10 points in those three games.
