BOX SCORE
SANTA BARBARA, California (Ticker) -- Erin Buescher scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds as No. 16 Santa Barbara rebounded from a poor first half to post its 10th straight win, 61-48 over Vanderbilt. Buescher was 8-of-18 from the floor for the Gauchos (15-3), who have not lost since a 76-73 setback at Kansas on December 4. She capped a decisive 18-5 second-half run by making a pair of free throws with 7:26 to play that opened a 50-38 cushion. Santa Barbara trailed, 27-26, at the half but took the lead for good, 35-33, on Nicole Greath's 3-pointer with 12:17 to play. The Gauchos have beaten each of their opponents by at least nine points during the run and improved to 7-0 at home this season. Tawnee Cooper scored 10 points off the bench for Santa Barbara, which shot just 33 percent (21-of-63) but held a 46-41 rebounding edge and forced 22 turnovers while commiting 13. Chantell Anderson had 19 points and 14 boards and Zuzana Klimesova added 16 points for Vanderbilt (14-6), which shot 32 percent (15-of-47) and managed just six baskets over the final 20 minutes. The Commodores appeared poised for the upset in the early going, racing to a 16-7 lead midway through the first half. But Buescher made two free throws, a layup and a 3-pointer to pull the Gauchos back into contention.
