Burse, Roberson spark Tulane

CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Janell Burse scored 20 points and No. 20 Tulane used a second-half surge to get past slumping North Carolina-Charlotte, 78-68, in a Conference USA game.

Fabrecia Roberson added 18 points and Sarah Goree 14 for the Green Wave (18-2, 7-2 C-USA National), which has won four in a row following a two-game losing streak.

Division-leading Tulane trailed 40-36 at halftime but limited NC-Charlotte to 29 percent (10-of-35) from the field in the second half. The Green Wave shot a blistering 57 percent (12-of-21) and made 17-of-21 free throws after halftime.

Sarah Fisher and Tonya Phifer scored 18 points apiece for the 49ers (7-13, 2-7 American), who shot less than 40 percent (27-of-68) overall and lost their seventh straight game.
