OXFORRD, Mississippi (Ticker) -- LaToya Thomas scored 22 points as 19th-ranked Mississippi State raced to a big lead and held on for a 66-60 victory over Southeastern Conference rival Mississippi. Thomas made 7-of-10 shots from the field and 8-of-10 from the foul line. She netted 14 points in the opening 20 minutes when the Lady Bulldogs (17-3, 6-3 SEC) built a 38-22 advantage. Mississippi State shot 58 percent (14-of-24) in the first half. Angela Harris added 12 points and Cynthia Hall 10 for Mississippi State, which shot 50 percent (22-of-44) and won despite committing 22 turnovers. Frankie Boyd tallied 21 points on 10-of-18 shooting for the Lady Rebels (11-9, 0-7), who remained the only winless team in conference play. Mississippi shot 38 percent (25-of-66) and managed a 37-34 rebounding edge.
