WEST LAFAYETTE, Indiana (Ticker) -- Katie Douglas scored 19 points, grabbed eight rebounds and handed out five assists to lead 21st-ranked Purdue to a 53-41 Big Ten Conference victory over Michigan State. Purdue (18-7, 10-5 Big Ten) led just 25-24 at the half but turned up the defense over the final 20 minutes. They held the Spartans to just 17 points on 6-of-25 shooting in the final 20 minutes. Camille Cooper added 10 points and eight rebounds for the Boilermakers, who won despite committing 16 turnovers and getting just seven points from its bench. Becky Cummings led Michigan State (17-9, 8-7) with 11 points and 11 rebounds. No other starter scored in double figures and the Spartans starting backcourt tandem of sisters Maxann and Vnemina Reese combined for nearly as many turnovers (nine) as points (12).
