AMES, Iowa (AP) -- Angie Welle scored a career-high 28 points on 10-of-10 shooting, and Megan Taylor went 6-for-7 on 3-pointers as No. 13 Iowa State ran past Baylor 112-79 Saturday night.

Iowa State (21-5, 12-3 Big 12) made 16 of 22 3-point attempts in all and shot 67 percent overall. After going 22 full seasons without scoring 100 points, the Cyclones now have done it twice in the last three games.

	Monica Huelman contributed five points in 16 minutes for the Cyclones.

Taylor finished with 22 points and Stacy Frese, playing her last regular-season home game, added 17 points for Iowa State and cried as she addressed the crowd afterwards. Monica Arnold scored 15 points and Danielle Crockrom had 14 to lead Baylor (7-18, 2-13).

With a victory in its regular-season finale at Texas on Wednesday, Iowa State would clinch at least a tie for its first conference championship.

The 112 points were the second most for Iowa State in a game. The Cyclones scored 115 points against Central in 1976.

There was one note of concern for the Cyclones, however. Starting forward Desiree Francis broke her left hand early in the second half and her status for the rest of the season was unknown.

Welle began the game on the bench so senior Monica Huelman could start, but once in the game, she scored quickly and often. She had 19 first-half points while playing only 12 minutes and played just 18 minutes in all.

A sophomore, Welle's previous high was 24 against Nebraska earlier this season.

Though overmatched, Baylor actually caused a few anxious moments for the crowd of 12,811 after Iowa State jumped to a 22-10 lead midway through the first half.

The Bears ran off nine straight points and trailed just 22-19 when Mandy Hayworth hit a 3-pointer with 10:57 left. A few minutes later, the anxiety vanished.

Taylor hit her third 3 to start a 12-2 run that made it 34-21. Welle then scored seven points and Taylor hit another 3 in a 10-0 burst that made it 46-26 and it was never close again.

Leading 54-36 at halftime, Iowa State outscored the Bears 27-8 to open an 81-44 lead. Welle had seven points in that span, while Frese and Taylor each hit two 3-pointers. Frese also made a nifty behind-the-back bounce pass to Welle for a layup that brought a roar from the crowd.

Erica Haugen's third 3-pointer of the game gave Iowa State its biggest lead, 106-60 with 5:16 left. Haugen finished with 11 points.
