BATON ROUGE, Louisiana (Ticker) -- Ninth-ranked Louisiana State set a single-season school record with its 22nd win, a 70-55 Southeastern Conference triumph over South Carolina as Katrina Hibbert scored 24 points. Playing the final home game of her career, Hibbert made 10 of 17 shots from the field and had eight assists and four steals. Marie Ferdinand added 20 points, six assists, five steals and four rebounds for the Tigers (22-5, 11-3 SEC), who will be the third seed at the SEC tournament. LSU also got 15 points and eight rebounds from DeTrina White and shot 48 percent from the field (31 of 64). The Tigers forced 34 turnovers to overcome 4 of 11 shooting from the line. SEC Player of the Week Annie Lester scored 13 points for South Carolina (13-14, 3-11), which was denied its first winning season since 1995-96. Jocelyn Penn had 10 points but committed 11 turnovers for the Gamecocks, who shot 53 percent from the field (24 of 45) but made only three trips to the foul line.
Petra Ujhelyi also scored 10 points off the bench but South Carolina suffered its ninth consecutive road loss.
