HATTIESBURG, Mississippi (Ticker) -- Kim Young scored 22 points and Angela Johnson and Angela Atterberry added 15 apiece as Southern Mississippi posted a 78-72 victory over 20th-ranked Tulane in the Conference USA finale for both schools. Young hit 9-of-12 shots, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, helping the Lady Golden Eagles (16-11, 10-6 C-USA National) record their sixth straight victory. Southern Mississippi also avenged a 91-77 loss at Tulane on January 3. The defeat snapped a four-game winning streak for Tulane (23-4, 12-4), which already had clinched the National Division title and will be seeded second in the conference tournament. Grace Daley scored 27 points and Janell Burse 13 for the Green Wave, who shot only 41 percent (26-of-84) from the field. Fabrecia Roberson grabbed 12 rebounds for Tulane. Dana Jones collected 14 points and 11 rebounds for Southern Mississippi, which shot just 54 percent (13-of-24) from the line but made 7-of-10 3-pointers.
