RUSTON, La. (AP) -- Louisiana Tech's Ayana Walker might have outscored hapless Centenary by herself if she had played anywhere near a full game. Walker scored 20 points in less than one half of play and then joined fellow starters on the bench as No. 10 Louisiana Tech cruised to a 100-34 victory over Centenary on Tuesday night. Ovlina Lewis added 18 points off the bench for Tech (8-3), which led 44-12 at halftime and reached 100 points in a game for the first time this season. The easy victory for Tech came two days after a loss to No. 2 Tennessee. "I'm extremely pleased we came out with so much intensity tonight. We could have easily taken this game lightly, but our players didn't and gave a great effort," head coach Leon Barmore said. "I thought our team needed a game of this nature." Centenary (0-9) has lost all 37 games it has played since resuming women's basketball last season after more than a decade without a varsity squad. Centenary shot barely better than 18 percent from the field in the first half and finished shooting just over 23 percent for the game. Katie Nicol was Centenary's top scorer with eight points. Tech hit 50 percent of its shots from the floor. Kenya Bibbs had 15 points off the bench for Tech on 6-of-9 shooting, while starter Takeisha Lewis scored 10. "I just think our entire basketball team benefited from the fact that they all feel good about themselves, and I didn't have to play Walker 38-40 minutes," Barmore said.
