AUSTIN (AP) -- Texas coach Jody Conradt holds the all-time record in women's college basketball with 756 wins. But she had never seen anything like the Longhorns' 135-37 win over Centenary Saturday and she didn't regard it as a great achievement.

"Games like this are hard," Conradt said. "There's obviously a mismatch in talent. It was a game on our schedule and we need to benefit from it and move forward."

Annissa Hastings scored 22 points and Lindsey Ryan had 19 as Texas (10-1) set a school scoring record in the victory over Centenary (0-10).

Texas (No. 23 ESPN/USA Today, No. 16 Associated Press) broke the scoring mark set in a 124-48 victory over Texas-El Paso on Nov. 17, 1978. The Longhorns' 98-point margin of victory also is a record.

The Longhorns led 135-34 with less than two seconds remaining and nearly managed a 100-point margin, but Centenary's Louise Smyth made a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds to go.

"I think the players were into that a bit," said Conradt about the possibility of a 100-point victory. "But it's not about the scoreboard. It's about doing the things we need to do."

Centenary has lost all 38 of its NCAA games since returning to women's basketball last season.

Like Conradt, Centenary coach John Raff knew it was a long shot that his team would get its first win over Texas.

"We were not preparing to beat Texas," said Raff. "We're preparing to beat some other team down the road."

The Longhorns jumped to a 39-0 lead before Clarisse Arredondo hit a 3-pointer for Centenary with 8:31 remaining in the first half. Up to that point, Centenary attempted only five field goals and committed 21 turnovers.

"The point where we knew we won was when they first scored and everybody cheered," said Texas forward Lindsey Ryan. "When you're out there, you don't notice how far ahead you are until you look up."

Texas' 69-14 halftime lead was its largest (55 points) ever. The 69 points matched the Longhorns' most productive half, tying the record set in the first half of the 1978 victory over Texas-El Paso. The Longhorns also tied a record with 66 second-half points.

The Longhorns outscored Centenary 74-6 off turnovers.

Smyth, Arrendondo, Julie Danieles and Emily Brown each had six points for Centenary.

"We had three, four or five players who played hard," said Raff. "Then, we had some who played scared."

"It was a game where we didn't feel a lot of pressure, and that's not a bad thing at this point in the season," said Conradt. "You worry about finals and whether the players are getting enough sleep."
