RUSTON, La. (AP) -- It was the kind of game Louisiana Tech needed, said coach Leon Barmore -- a 45-point victory over Texas-Arlington.

Kenya Bibbs scored 21 points in her first start and Tech romped 89-44 Tuesday night.

Every Tech player scored as reserves contributed 33 points.

"We really needed another game such as this one in order to give our reserves some more playing time," Barmore said. "It's just a problem we've got to solve before it gets too late in the season. We've got to develop our bench more, but we've got some potential there."

Tech (9-3) took a 54-20 halftime lead and finished with a 50-27 rebounding edge. Tech has now won all 10 games in its series against Texas-Arlington (1-7).

Tech forced 26 turnovers, had 12 steals and six blocked shots -- three by Ayana Walker and two by reserve Cheryl Ford. Takeisha Lewis had a game-high 12 rebounds.

Freshman reserve Amber Obaze added 14 points for Tech and Ford had 11.

"Out of the 40 minutes, we were playing with four freshmen on the floor for about 30 minutes," Texas-Arlington coach Donna Capps said. "They were obviously bigger and stronger, but we had no consistent blocking out and I was very disappointed in the number of second, third and fourth shots they were able to take. But overall, I don't think we quit and that was good to see in our young team."

Sheena Johnson had 13 points for Texas-Arlington and Renee Wharekura scored 12.
