COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) -- Marche Strickland had 20 points, and
Maryland outscored Clemson by 12 points in overtime for an 85-73
victory Tuesday night to snap the Tigers' nine-game winning streak.
The Terrapins (10-3, 1-1 ACC) trailed 45-33 with 4:05 gone in
the second half, but used a 13-3 run to tie the game at 51 on
Strickland's 3-pointer with 7:55 left in regulation.
The Tigers (10-3, 1-1 ACC; No. 23 ESPN/USA Today; No. 18 Associated Press) sent the game into overtime tied at
66 on Marci Glenney's free throws with 43 seconds to play.
Maryland's Renneika Razor missed a jumper that would have won it
for the Terps in regulation as the clock expired.
The Terrapins dominated in overtime, hitting four of seven shots from
the field and 11 of 15 free throws. Clemson shot just 2-for-11 from
the field in the extra session and went to the line just four
times, hitting three foul shots.
The game featured 55 turnovers, including 28 by Clemson. The
Tigers turned it over 17 times in the second half and overtime.
Razor scored 16 and Kiki Wimbush added 14 for the Terps.
Chrissy Floyd led Clemson with 20 points.
