CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (AP) -- Schuye LaRue had 25 points and 10
rebounds -- her fourth consecutive double-double and ninth this season -- as Virginia defeated North Carolina State 77-64 Tuesday
night.
Virginia (10-4, 2-0 ACC; No. 25 ESPN/USA Today) won for the sixth time in its last
seven games.
North Carolina State (9-3, 1-2; No. 13 ESPN/USA Today; No. 16 Associated Press) was led by Amy Simpson with 18
points. Carisse Moody added 12 points and five rebounds.
Telisha Quarles added 16 points for Virginia.
The Cavaliers led by five points at the break, then shot 61
percent from the field in the second half. The Wolfpack made just
40 percent of its shots in the final 20 minutes.
