Texas Tech bounces back in its Big 12 opener RECAP | BOX SCORE

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) -- Amber Tarr scored 16 points to lead Texas Tech to an 82-64 victory over Missouri after the Tigers closed to 10 points in the final three minutes Wednesday.
The Raiders (No. 12 ESPN/USA Today; No. 13 Associated Press) held Missouri to two baskets and pulled away
for the final margin with free throws and a basket by Jia Perkins
in the final minutes.
The game was both teams' Big 12 Conference opener and the
statement Texas Tech (10-2, 1-0) wanted to make after being upset
by 61-56 by Santa Clara last week.
Tarr paced four other Raiders who scored in double digits.
Tanisha Ellison added 15 points and 11 rebounds while Perkins
scored 14 and Plenette Pierson and Katrisa O'Neal scored 10 each.
Tech limited Amanda Lassiter, the Tigers' leading scorer, to
four points in the first half. She added 17 in the second half to
lead her team with 21 points. Terianne Wolford added 13 for the
Tigers (9-3, 0-1) and Marlena Williams another 12.
Tech led Missouri 41-27 at the half and by as much as 21 points
at 60-39 with 11:39 to play.
Lassiter's eight points and five by Natalie Bright helped
Missouri close to 10 points.
Overall, Tech grabbed 41 of its points off of Missouri's 26
turnovers. The Tigers came up with six points off of the Raiders' 18 turnovers.
Tech hit 27 of its 59 shots while the Tigers hit 23 of 59. Last
year, Missouri upset Tech 52-49.
