AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- Tai Dillard scored 15 points to lead Texas to a 62-49 victory Wednesday over Texas A&M to stop the Aggies' seven-game win streak.

It was the sixth consecutive time the Longhorns (13-2, 1-0; No. 17 ESPN/USA Today; No. 12 Associated Press) beat the Aggies (10-2, 0-1).

The Longhorns, who led 28-19 at the half, pulled out to a lead of as many as 17 points in the second half.

The Longhorns' JoRuth Woods had 10 points and 11 rebounds while Stacy Stephens had 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Brandy Jones led the Aggies with 15 points and Saunders finished with 12.

The Aggies jumped out to a 4-0 lead after LaToya Rose hit a jumper with 18:53 remaining in the first half. However, the Longhorns' Kenya Larkin hit a 3-point shot, and then, after an Aggies turnover, hit a jumper to give Texas its first lead of the game 5-4 with 14:16 remaining in the first half.

The Aggies got the lead back when Jaynetta Saunders hit a jumper at the 10:13 mark, but the Aggies would not score another point during the next eight minutes while the Longhorns were on a 15-point run. Dillard hit two jumpers and a free throw on the run.
