Louisiana Tech tuned up for a game against No. 1 Connecticut by
handling Arkansas-Little Rock 95-57, its 63rd straight Sun Belt
Conference regular-season home victory.
"I was extremely pleased with the play of our bench, which is
what we're going to need against Connecticut on Sunday," Tech
coach Leon Barmore said.
"They played a huge role for us tonight in winning."
Cheryl Ford's 17 points led four Tech reserves in double
figures. Kristie McClain added 16 points, Kenya Bibbs 12, and
Ovlina Lewis 10 for Louisiana Tech (12-3, 3-0).
Ayana Walker, who leads the Lady Techsters in scoring by
averaging 17 points, had six in only 12 minutes as the hosts'
starters got plenty of rest.
Tech's reserves outscored the Arkansas-Little Rock team by two

Ford went 6-for-10 from the field and 5-for-9 from the line.
McClain had her best game of the year, hitting three 3-pointers and
getting three steals, an assist and a block.

Arkansas-Little Rock (5-7, 0-2).

Arkansas-Little Rock went 20-for-63 from the field (32 percent).
"We got down a lot early and you can't do that against a team
of Louisiana Tech's caliber," Trojans coach Tracy Stewart-Lang
said. "But overall I thought we held our own at times and we can
build from this game."
The Lady Techsters, who jumped to an 18-3 lead, reached 90
points for the third time this season.
