PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) -- Tammy Sutton-Brown hit a jumper with 42 seconds left in overtime as Rutgers (No. 13 ESPN/USA Today, No. 12 AP) beat Providence 81-76 on Wednesday night.
Kourtney Walton led Rutgers (9-4, 2-1 Big East) with 19 points,
and Tasha Pointer had 18 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds.
Chrissy Vozab led Providence (6-6, 0-3) with 18 points and Jenese
Wilcox added 15.
Providence led by as many as seven points midway through the second half, but Rutgers rallied to tie it at 63 on Walton's jumper. The Friars then went ahead 68-63, with Jenese Wilcox hitting a 3-pointer and pulling down a key defensive rebound.
After Vozab missed two free throws, Walton made a 3-pointer with 17 seconds left to tie the game and force overtime.
